Phiamos
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Section 01
Overview
Phiamos (“Phiamos”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a web application operated by WamvyTech that analyzes your chess games and gives you personalized coaching. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have regarding your data. WamvyTech is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
By using Phiamos, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use and contact us at info@wamvytech.com to request deletion of your data.
Section 02
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not have access to your Google password. We store a unique account identifier to keep you signed in.
Linked Chess Accounts & Game Data
When you connect a Lichess or Chess.com handle, we retrieve your publicly available games and profile from those platforms and store them to build your dashboard, your Chess DNA, and your coaching reports. We also store the analysis and statistics we compute from those games.
Purchase Information
Payments (Pro subscriptions and one-time Coach Reports) are processed entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your subscription and purchase status and store a Stripe customer reference, but we never receive or store your payment card details.
Communications
We use your email address to send account and transactional messages (e.g. welcome, receipts, report-ready notices) and, optionally, product updates. Every non-essential email includes an unsubscribe link.
Technical Data
Our servers keep basic operational logs (such as IP address and request metadata) to run the service securely and diagnose problems. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or behavioral-tracking tools.
Section 03
How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate your identity
- To import your games and generate your dashboard, Chess DNA, and coaching
- To produce AI coaching and analysis from your game data (see Sections 06 & 08)
- To manage and verify your subscription or one-time purchases
- To send you account, transactional, and (optional) product emails
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service
- To respond to your support requests and comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising or behavioral tracking. Your game and study data is used solely to power your Phiamos experience.
Section 04
Cookies & Local Storage
Phiamos uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage — primarily to sign you in and keep your session active (via Google/Firebase authentication). These are essential for the app to function.
We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time, but doing so will sign you out and may reset your preferences.
Section 05
Data Sharing & No-Sell Policy
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party — ever.
We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers
We share data with the third-party services listed in Section 06 solely to operate the app. Each provider is bound by its own terms and may not use your data for its own unrelated purposes.
Aggregated & de-identified data
We may create and use anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you — for example, overall trends across players — for research, product improvement, and marketing. This information is not personal data.
Legal requirements
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or a valid government request.
Business transfers
In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, which will remain bound by this Privacy Policy.
Section 06
Third-Party Services
The following services are integrated into Phiamos. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data on its end.
Google Sign-In
Authentication — provides your name and email so you can sign in securely.
Firebase (Google)
Manages sign-in and identity. We use Firebase for authentication only; your chess and account data is stored in our own database (see below), not in Firebase.
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Hosting, database, and email. Your account and game data is stored in a private, encrypted PostgreSQL database on AWS, and transactional email is sent via Amazon SES. Infrastructure is operated in the United States.
Stripe
Payment processing and subscription management. Stripe handles all card data; we never see or store it.
Anthropic (Claude)
We use Anthropic’s Claude models to generate your coaching and analysis from your game data. Data sent to Anthropic’s API is processed to produce your coaching output and, under Anthropic’s commercial terms, is not used to train their models.
Lichess & Chess.com
When you link a handle, we retrieve your publicly available game history and profile from these platforms. We only access data these platforms already make public.
Section 07
Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract
To provide the app, your account, your analysis and coaching, and to manage your subscription or purchases.
Legitimate interests
To secure, operate, debug, and improve the service and to prevent fraud and abuse — balanced against your rights and freedoms.
Consent
For optional product or marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Legal obligation
To comply with applicable law, including tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements.
Section 08
Automated Coaching & AI
Phiamos uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic’s Claude) to analyze your games and generate coaching text, scores, and recommendations. This processing is informational and educational only.
It does not produce legal or similarly significant decisions about you, and it does not determine access to any right, credit, employment, or benefit. The coaching is guidance you are free to accept or ignore, and you remain in control of your account. As noted above, your data is not used to train AI models.
Section 09
Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following measures:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security)
- Your data is stored in a private, encrypted database not exposed to the public internet
- Authentication is delegated to Google Sign-In — we never handle or store passwords
- Payments are handled by Stripe, which employs industry-standard security practices
- Access to production systems is limited to authorized WamvyTech personnel only
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law and without undue delay. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
Section 10
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service.
Account, Game & Coaching Data
Kept for the lifetime of your account. If you request deletion, we will remove your account and associated data within 30 days.
Operational Logs
Server logs used for security and debugging are retained only for a short period and then rotated out.
Purchase Records
Stripe retains subscription and transaction history as required to manage your access and resolve billing disputes.
Section 11
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these, contact us at info@wamvytech.com.
Right to Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Deletion
Request that we delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
Right to Correction
Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
Right to Portability
Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to Object
Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.
Opt out of marketing
Unsubscribe from product or marketing emails anytime via the link in any such email. You’ll still receive essential account and transactional messages.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Section 12
California Privacy (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) provides additional rights. In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — name, email address, account identifier (from you and Google Sign-In)
- Commercial information — subscription and purchase status (from Stripe)
- Internet/activity information — your linked chess games and basic usage/technical logs (from you and Lichess/Chess.com)
- Inferences — coaching insights and scores we compute from your games
We use this information for the purposes described in Section 03. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. Because we do not sell or share your data, no opt-out is required; where applicable, we honor recognized browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC). You will never be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
Section 13
Children's Privacy
Phiamos is intended for use by individuals who are 13 years of age or older (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at info@wamvytech.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Section 14
International Data Transfers
WamvyTech is based in the United States. By using Phiamos, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers (including Google, AWS, Stripe, and Anthropic) operate their infrastructure.
These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — to keep your data protected when transferred internationally.
Section 15
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
- Display an in-app notice on your next sign-in following a significant change
- Email your registered address for changes that materially affect your rights
Continued use of Phiamos after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Section 16

We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within 5 business days.
